Student to Member Mentorship Program
The L'Dor V'Dor Mentorship Program, launched in April 2024 by the Jewish Caucus, addresses the growing concern of antisemitism targeting Jewish students on college campuses across the USA. Developed as a response to this pressing issue, the initiative pairs undergraduate and graduate students in communication sciences and disorders, speech-language pathology, and audiology with active and retired members of the SLP and AUD professions within the Jewish Caucus. Despite early enthusiasm from mentors, we are currently in the early stages of implementation and face a challenge in identifying a sufficient number of interested student participants. Moving forward, our objectives include expanding student engagement, fostering meaningful mentor-mentee relationships, and enhancing support networks for Jewish students pursuing careers in these fields. At this point, the program is a volunteer-only project. We aim to secure future funding and resources to sustain and grow the program, ultimately creating a robust and impactful mentorship experience for all participants.
